Childhood Advisory Council Committee Meetings

The Childhood Advisory Council of Santa Cruz County is happy to provide early care and education, local and state elected officials and the broader community a variety of publications focused on early childhood education and after-school care programs. These reports cover issues impacting families, children and the early care workforce.

Childhood Advisory Council Meetings

The CAC is the state funded local child care planning council representing Santa Cruz County. Members gather to discuss child care and after school age issues, create strategic plans and data driven reports to increase the quality of care and early learning workforce. The CAC meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held on a quarter basis, on the second Thursday of the month.

Inclusive Early Education Expansion Program (IEEEP) Meetings

The IEEEP Leadership committee meet to discuss and plan for the implementation of the IEEEP grant. Leadership members provide program updates, information on services available to children with disabilities and professional development for early educators and program administrators. IEEEP meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month until further notice.

COE Child Care Briefing Meeting

Dr. Faris Sabbah, Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools, established this weekly virtual meeting for the early care and education community to provide COVID-19 updates, health and safety protocols, testing, vaccine locations and natural disaster emergency response information and much more. These meetings are supported by COE Child Development Programs team. Meetings are held bi-weekly, as of August 2023, on Mondays from 10:00 – 11:00 am.

Subsidized Programs Consortium Meetings

The members of the SPC committee are state and federally funded child care program administrators. They meet to discuss contract regulations, laws, professional development, child enrollment and health and safety issues that affect young children, staff and families. 

SPC meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, until further notice.

QCC Universal Pre-Kindergarten Mixed Delivery Workgroup Meetings

The UPK Mixed Delivery Workgroup Committee will actively work to identify, collaborate and coordinate before and after school age care for Transitional Kindergarten students. Meeting dates and time to be determined soon.
